Gas City I-69 Speedway
Jonathan took the 68 sprint car out for the second time on April 11, 2008. He would draw the lowest number of the night. Meaning that he would be in the first set of hot laps and would start on the pole of the 1st heat race of the evening. He would start out battling hard with Shane Cottle but slowly losing the fight with Shane. That would drop him back to the second position which would be the finishing order for the heat. This was a great heat race and a good start for the J&J Hendrick Motorsports 2008 sprint car season. With Jonathan's great finish in the heat he would be starting 4th in the feature. He slowly lost positions because of the ruff track and the lack of experience. There was a lot of cautions and red flags that would hold up the race. He would eventually drop to his low spot of the night 12th position. After the race finally got going for awhile he got a grip on the track and started making his way up through the field to finish in 8th place. A speacial thanks goes out to Bill Baue, Pendleton Pike Auto Sales, all our dedicated sponsors and the Team for their hard work.
Chili Bowl 2008
In January the truck and trailer headed out for the 22nd annual Chili Bowl. Jonathan would be running Thursday night January 10. That night the team had strugled with alot of mechanical problems. The 68 car did not make the A-main for Thursday. The teams confidence was set back but still wanted to repeat last years stunning performance. Saturday finally rolled around and the team was ready to get things going the right way after the troubles on Thursday. Jonathan would start 4th in the I-main. He would take off and win this main to transfer him to the H-main. Starting near the rear of this one would be a challenge but never say never. When the car fired he knew what he had to do to keep moving up through the mains. He finished 2nd going across the line. So he transfered to the G-main were that would conclude the 68 teams 2008 Chili Bowl. Thanks to Bill Baue, The Hollingsworth Family, all our dedicated sponsors, and the team for the great effort. |

The 68 team registered for the 2nd Annual 600 Nationals in Little Rock, Arkansas. On the opening night the team finished 2nd after a 7th place starting position in the heat race. Then the team battled their way from 8th to 4th in the qualifying race. Finally the 68 car started 9th in the feature and managed to move their way to the front. Jonathan went across the line running in the 6th position, that was enough to qualify the team car into the $10,000 show with out having to run the transfer races on Saturday.
