Saturday October 7, 2006 at Belle-Clair Speedway

This was going to be the first night for the 2007 PMP chassis and the team had high hopes for the car after winning 13 feature wins in the 2006 car. There was not enough time to get the number 68 machine back to the original colors so they had to stick to the basics but was still planning on putting it up front. The night started out with 62 cars and only 24 would make the 20 lap A Main event.

The team took the car out for hot laps and was pretty happy with the car but still wanted to make it much better. Jonathan had got a good draw which gave him the pole of the third heat race and he ended up winning the race but was still looking for more in the new car. Jonathan and Crew chief Troy Hollingsworth put their heads together and made a wild setup guess for the A main. They had figured that they couldn't win the race the way that they were so they were going to try something new.

With the 24 cars lined up for the 20 lap shootout Jonathan filled the inside of the second row. When the race got under way he moved to the second position but soon pulled the leader in as the car began to come in after a few laps. Jonathan ended up taking the lead on lap 13 and never looked back giving him his 14th feature win in the 2006 season and the 2007 pmp a win for the first night out. The team was extremely happy about the performance that they had gave and was hoping to do the same thing tomorrow at Tri-City speedway.
