Pennsylvania Speed Week

On July 5th, the team headed out to Pennsylvania for speed week. The first race was at Linda Speedway in Jonestown, PA. Jonathan finished 3rd in his heat. He was struggling because the car was real loose. The team went to work and they thought they had the loose problem fixed. The track turned into one lane, tip toe around the bottom of the speedway. He started 16th in feature and worked his way up to 8th as there were more cautions he started slowly slipping backwards. He slowly came across the finish line running in 12th place.

The following day the team headed over to Lanco Speedway just thirty-five miles from Linda’s Speedway. The team had a busy day planned ahead of them. This show was $10,000 to win and they had their mind set on winning it. As the day went by everything started coming into place.

He started 5th in his heat and won it by a straight away. You had to be in the top 12 in points to guarantee a spot in the show. They had luck on there side, he was scored 10th in points. He had to run a dash to decide were he would start. The car was really bad and he could not find a line to run so he cruised to the finish.

The time was there he would start 12th in the feature. He worked his way up to 7th; going into turn three a car hit Jonathan in the left rear tire. He saved the car from going over but would have to start at the rear of the field and see what he could do. On lap twenty-nine there was a pit stop made for fuel and adjustments, he told crew chief Troy Hollingsworth the car was terrible in traffic so troy made adjustments. He was still in last place with 21 laps to go. There were several cautions and in the mean time he was moving his way up through the field. The checkered flag fell and he was running in 16th place. “There was just not enough laps to get back to the front,” Jonathan said.
