The I-30 Speedway 600 Nationals
The 68 team registered for the 2nd Annual 600 Nationals in Little Rock, Arkansas. On the opening night the team finished 2nd after a 7th place starting position in the heat race. Then the team battled their way from 8th to 4th in the qualifying race. Finally the 68 car started 9th in the feature and managed to move their way to the front. Jonathan went across the line running in the 6th position, that was enough to qualify the team car into the $10,000 show with out having to run the transfer races on Saturday.
The next day was here and the fun began. Preparing the car for the $10,000 show was a challenge making sure everything was perfect. Before we knew it the dash was here and Jonathan would start 4th. The track was really slick, the car went away and he finished 5th. The team was ready to roll for the feature. As the cars rolled on to the speedway the 68 car rolled out 5th. The laps were counting down and they started to get into lap traffic. Jonathan was battling hard for 4th going through the traffic and was pinched down and spun out. He was sent to the tail of the field and battled his way back to 14th which was where he crossed the finish line. A big thanks goes out to Troy Hollingsworth and the crew.
